More Russian humanitarian aid arrives in Serbia

BELGRADE -- Another airplane carrying humanitarian assistance from Russia to the flood-affected areas of Serbia landed at the military airport Batajnica last night.

The cargo is the second part of a shipment of assistance consisting of a total of 90 tons, the Ministry of Defense announced.

The first airplane landed on Saturday, bringing 20 tons of cargo, including two large mobile generators, and other equipment.

During the catastrophic flooding in May, Russia sent a team of some 70 rescuers and several airplanes with more than 100 tons of aid.

The damage from the flooding that hit Serbia was estimated at EUR 1.5 billion.
