Vucic says Serbia condemns terrorist attack in Paris

BELGRADE - Serbia condemns the terrorist attack and terrible crime that occurred in Paris, Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic said on Friday in comment to the recent attack on the French weekly Charlie Hebdo, which left 12 dead.

Serbia wants full political stability in a country that has more than 500,000 Muslim residents, he told a news conference after a meeting of the Presidency of the Serbian Progressive Party, adding that Muslims were equally respected in Serbia.

He stated he would visit Novi Pazar, Tutin and Sjenica after Kosovo and meet with the local leaders.

"I want to talk to the Bosniak Muslim leaders. I want to see how we can cope with the serious economic crisis and establish stability in the country and I am convinced that we will know how to keep that stability with their assistance," said Vucic, who is also the president of the Serbian Progressive Party.

Commenting on whether Serbia faces danger from Islamic terrorism, he pointed out that the security agencies in the country had all the information about all those who had fought in the conflicts in Syria and Ukraine.

They are under the watchful eye of the authorities, he remarked.
