Ejdus: EULEX's effectiveness questionable, fate uncertain

BRUSSELS - The effectiveness of the EU Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX) is highly questionable and its fate is uncertain, says Filip Ejdus of the Belgrade Centre for Security Policy.

Despite some limited achievements in the monitoring, mentoring and advising of the Kosovo police, judiciary and customs, as well as in supporting the EU-facilitated dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, the most important objectives of EULEX's mandate have not been achieved, Ejdus wrote in an article for Tanjug and the European Western Balkans portal ahead of the October 11-13 Belgrade Security Forum.
