Medicaments will cost 100 dinars

"In 2015 all prescription medicines will be without additional payment, but with participation in ammount of 100 dinars", says Director of Republic Fund for Healht Insurance Momčilo Babić, exclusively for "Blic."

This means that patients in Serbia will not be paying percentage participation for prescription medicines from A1 list, which are very expensive. For some medicines participation costs almost 80 percent of medicin's full price. Instead of that, the usual participation will cost 100 dinars.

- We are working on improvement of this desperate situation, where people are forced to pay for a medicine they need. In the first half of 2015, we will cancel the additional payment for medicines. Only the participation in ammount of 100 dinars will be charged, monthly. That's all - says Babić.

He explained that patients are currently paying large ammounts of money for prescription medicines.

- Participation will be obligatory for all medicines, including those from A list. It's an act of solidarity. It seems citizens accepted these changes - Babić said.
