Serbia and France to form joint investigation teams

BELGRADE - Serbia and France will form joint investigation teams to fight illegal arms trade, organized crime and terrorism more efficiently.

Terrorism and crime know no borders, which is why it is necessary for countries and their judicial systems to improve cooperation, and the fight against illegal arms trade will be a priority for France and Serbia, a conference on judicial cooperation between the two countries was told Wednesday.

Serbia's Prosecutor for Organized Crime Mladen Nenadic said the Western Balkan countries were full of illegal weapons due to the wars of the 1990s.

There is a real danger of some of those weapons ending up in the Western markets, said Nenadic.
