Serbia's new parliament constituted

BELGRADE -- The setting up working bodies and standing delegations to international parliamentary institutions on Thursday marked the end of the constitution of parliament.

A new session is about to start to discuss amendments to the laws on government and ministries, the passage of which is a prerequisite for forming a new government.

On Wednesday, MPs elected Maja Gojković (SNS) as parliament speaker.

The parliament also elected six deputy speakers - Veroljub Arsić and Igor Bečić (SNS), Gordana Ćomić (DS), Ninoslav Stojadinović (NDS), Vladimir Marinković (SDPS), and Konstantin Arsenović (PUPS).

The cabinet, that will be headed by Aleksandar Vučić and is expected to be announced on Sunday, should have 16 ministries, according to the draft law on ministries.

Amendments to the law on government propose that the prime minister can set up councils for economic development, public bodies and services.
