Regional Cyber Security Summit begins at Palace of Parliament

The Ministry for Information Society together with the US Department of Commerce and the Commercial Service of the US Embassy in Bucharest are organising in the following three days at the Palace of the Parliament a Regional Cyber Security Summit, the US Embassy in Bucharest informs.

A number of 17 states in Central and South-Eastern Europe are invited at the event beginning on Monday to present "their policies in the cyber security area," to approach "topics such as the cyber threats and vulnerabilities" and to identify "opportunities for international and regional collaboration."

Companies and government officials, specialists in the cyber security area from the public and private environment from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, the Republic of Moldova, Montenegro, Poland, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Ukraine, the USA and Romania will participate in the summit.

According to the cited source, the talks and meetings will be carried out over a three day period and Prime Minister Victor Ponta and US Deputy Secretary of Commerce Bruce Andrews will participate in the event.

"In the same period, the US Department of Commerce and the Commercial Service of the US Embassy in Bucharest are conducting a commercial mission in Bucharest to present the latest solutions which the US companies can provide in this area. The participants in the summit will have the opportunity to conduct bilateral discussions with experts in cyber security and leaders within the represented companies," the US Embassy also informs.
