"Russophobe NATO enthusiast" - opposition politician slammed

Djuric, who also serves as director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, added on Wednesday that Jeremic, Serbia's former foreign minister, was part of a regime during which relations between the two nations and states had been brought to "the lowest level in history."

Djuric's reaction came after Jeremic said that Russia "supports Serbia, but not its current authorities."

"The new year brings new deceits and lies of Vuk Jeremic, who obviously does not intend to give up his policy of stirring the pot and creating discord," Djuric said in a statement.

He added that Jeremic and his boss (former Serbian president) Boris Tadic "tricked Russia when he pretended to be garnering support for talks on Kosovo and Metohija in the United Nations, and then overnight transferred the dialogue to under the auspices of the European Union" - a move Djuric believes Moscow "never forgot."

"The NATO enthusiast Jeremic also forgets that, during his regime in 2010, Serbia was absent from the Victory Day parade in Moscow marking the 65th anniversary of victory over fascism, which saw the participation of a large number of foreign soldiers, but not Serbian. I recall that the Serbian Guards marched on Red Square on the 70th anniversary, precisely because Jeremic and other ideologues of Russophobia in Serbia had been forever ousted from power," Djuric said.

He pointed out that nothing speaks more eloquently about the personal relationship between presidents Aleksandar Vucic and Vladimir Putin than the number of their meetings, and added that only a handful of world leaders have the door to the president of the Russian Federation always open to them, like Vucic has.
