Moscow mayor to visit Belgrade soon

BELGRADE - Belgrade Mayor Sinisa Mali announced on Thursday that Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin would visit Belgrade soon.

On Thursday, Mali conferred with Russian Ambassador in Serbia Alexander Chepurin and the main topic of their talks covered the visit of the Moscow mayor to Belgrade.

Moscow Government Minister Sergei Cheryomin should visit Serbia soon so as to reach an agreement on Sobyanin's visit to Belgrade, Mali said.

He noted that the text of the agreement between the City of Belgrade and the Moscow government would be drafted on this occasion, while tangible projects in sectors of construction and food industry, pharmaceutical industry and infrastructure should be defined in the next few days, as well as the possibilities of investments for Russian companies in the projects of public-private partnership in Serbia.

When it comes to cooperation in culture, Chepurin announced three major projects, including the Great Exhibition on World War I which was realised in collaboration between France, Russia and Serbia and which will be displayed in Belgrade after it opens Moscow and Paris.

In addition to that, Belgrade should also host a performance by the official army choir of the Russian armed forces Alexandrov Ensemble in the time to come, as well as an exhibition of Russian avant-garde artists who will display their works in the Museum of Yugoslav History.
